WOODLAND COURSE OPEN VILLAGE COURSE OPEN CALL PRO SHOP FOR INFO
GDP stands for Golf Development Professional and it’s the title Crown Golf gives its PGA pros to highlight the vital role they play at the heart of all 23 clubs. Our GDP, Dan Kean, and his deputy, Tom Hutchings, are brilliant at arranging new member events to aid the integration process and run regular clinics to help golfers of all abilities to improve their game, focusing on specific aspects like driving, chipping and putting.
We run groups for beginners’, ladies and juniors, as well as skills challenges, master classes and monthly 9-hole Texas scrambles, all with the emphasis on fun. We also provide custom fittings and will help you get a handicap.
We have a fantastic and proactive Golf Pro, namely, Dan who does so much to encourage us all and help us to play better golf and with such passion too. He keeps us more interested in improving our game with his many activities and on course activities. It’s so lovely to know we have such an excellent professional who is at hand. We have recently had the pleasure of better chefs, although sadly we lose them very quickly. (I can only hope that we continue to keep a good one!) . The Club House looks so much better than it used to, (albeit a few more improvements wouldn’t go amiss!) -The course is also fabulous now, the best for a long while. But all in all, it is really getting there, and I now look forward to playing golf and being there more often. So well done Crown Golf for finding the people we need to make us one of the most up and coming golf clubs in the area! – I am sure it won’t be long before the members that left under bad management will be returning to us once again and new golfers will choose our club instead of the others. It has already been noticed that some of our village 9 hole course ladies are now going over to play the 18 hole Woodland Course because they are so encouraged by what is happening around us. – Julia Ranger
